Commonly asked Questions… 

My Pet is coming in for surgery what do I do?  All dogs and cats coming in for surgery require a 12 hour fast, no food and water.  Each patient will have a drop off time, please ensure you know when this is.   There are a few exceptions to the 12 hour fast, if your pet is diabetic, very elderly, very young < 4 months and less then 10 lbs in weight.   If your pet falls into one of these categories, please ensure you have spoken to a staff member about an individualized fasting time.  If your pet is on medication at the time of surgery, please discuss administration of medication for the upcoming surgery. 

My Pet is coming in for an Ultrasound what do I do?  All pets coming in for an ultrasound require a 12 hour fast, water is ok, up until they are dropped off at the clinic.  Please ensure that your pet has a full urinary bladder for the procedure.   

 My Pet is coming in for blood work what do I do? It is recommended to fast your pet before blood work.  Some blood tests require a 12 hour fast, some do not, it is best to fast them, so you do not have to come back.  If it is a planned blood test, please ask the staff if your pet should be fasted.  

 My Pet is sick, and it is after hours who can I call?  There are a few options for after hours emergency care, please follow the links:

 Does my Puppy or Kitten need a booster? Puppies and kittens typically require a set of 3 boosters.  These usually start at 8 weeks of age.   They get one at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks of age.   If your puppy or kitten is older at the time you get them, please call the clinic and discuss timing of vaccines.  

 Should I get pet insurance? We highly recommend looking into pet insurance.  There are many different companies out there.  We recommend looking into each individual company and seeing which one is right for you and your pet.  Please follow the links below for a few companies.
